God’s Everlasting Love

Jeremiah 31:3
3… I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you. [Jeremiah 31:3]
He loved us when we had descended so far into sin there was no way out; 16 “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son… [John 3:16 …] and Scripture also tells us He will love us forever 20 … And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” [Matthew 28: … 20]
Do you realize that once you have truly accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, His love for you is unending and unchanging? You can’t make Him love you more for He already loves you with an Agape love – wholly, selflessly and spiritually and there is nothing that you can do to make Him love you less, no sin you commit, for scripture tells us and I’ll paraphrase Romans 8 where it says nothing can: separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord! (See Romans 8:38-39)
When you are in a state where you feel God has no time for you, that He is ignoring you or that maybe He doesn’t know you exist, go to Jeremiah and look at all the exiles went through and how God made them a promise that although they had sinned greatly against Him He had not forgotten them, that He still loved them.
He promised them a new covenant unlike the old covenant that brought a great promise with it, one that stated how much He loves us. He promised the greatest gift there is: the key to the gate to heaven. He told Jeremiah to tell the people this; 33 “. . . I will put My teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people. 34 No longer will one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me, from the least to the greatest of them”—this is the Lord’s declaration. “For I will forgive their wrongdoing and never again remember their sin.” [Jeremiah 31:33 . . . -34]
God forgiving and forgetting your sin is the only way for you to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. Why would He do that if He didn’t love you?
Never doubt that God loves you although it may seem that He may not during your season of waiting, but hold on for He never forgets His promise to you, we just have to trust in His timing.
Let me close with a scripture also from Jeremiah that gives that promise (emphasis mine); 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. [Jeremiah 29:11-13]
God loves you!
